Annual General Meeting

The PFPO has had to postpone the date of the Annual General Meeting.  While the situation with COVID 19 continues, the PFPO is uncertain about a face-to-face meeting and may need to look at virtual options.  Stay tuned for more details as a PFPO Executive meeting is scheduled and this will be discussed.

Fitness Appraiser Qualification Expiry Dates

Also, due to COVID-19 restrictions within facilities, the planned course for November has been postponed and the Fitness Appraiser Qualification Expiry Dates have been extended. If your qualification date was due to expire in 2020, it has now been extended for a year. Please check with the PFPO Administrator by email or by phone, during business hours, if you are unsure of your status.

Details of the next available courses will be posted as soon as they are arranged.

Official Launch of Canada’s 24-hour Movement Guidelines for Adults

The guidelines have been developed in partnership with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, Public Health Agency of Canada, Queen’s University and ParticipACTION. They will integrate recommendations for physical activity, sedentary behaviour and sleep.

The date of the release is Thursday, October 15th at 1300 hours. It will be by live webcast. All fitness appraisers, exercise professionals and interested members of the general public are invited to attend.
